“My dark days made me strong. Or maybe I already was strong, and they made me prove it.”
— Emery Lord
Hello! The first step you are taking in your mental health journey is a big step for change. It takes a lot of strength and courage to start therapy, so know that is a powerful place to be. Many times people often ask, “what is therapy?” I am here to tell you what it looks like with me. I believe that therapy is about collaboration, working together to meet your needs, and your goals by strengthening your resources to get there. I believe creating a safe environment, where you feel comfortable sharing difficult topics is important. My therapeutic stance incorporates evidence-based practices and a holistic approach by providing individualized treatment to meet each client’s unique needs. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, Art Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy. My counseling experience has been mostly with adults, children, teens, and families working through anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life adjustments, and trauma. I am passionate about serving clients and providing them the care they need to have the quality of life they deserve. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in this new journey.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with minors in Sociology and Humanistic Studies from Saint Mary’s College. My Master’s degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. I am a Mental Health Counselor Associate (MA, LMHC-A) in the state of Indiana. What I want my clients to know is that “when they can’t see the light, I will sit with them in the dark.” I am looking forward to getting to know you!
