Mrs. Ramaker earned her Master’s degree in Counselor Education in 2008 at Western Michigan University. She has practiced in both agency and outpatient settings in multiple states. Her mission is to help individuals create, meet, and maintain their specific therapy goals. Evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy are utilized in treatment and she practices from a strength-based perspective. A strength-based perspective means she will highlight and emphasize her clients’ capabilities. She recognizes that people seek counseling for a multitude of reasons including painful situations and relationships. Counseling sessions will be a safe and validating place for individuals to share their struggles. Mrs. Ramaker collaborates with her clients and tailors treatment methods to meet their needs. The belief that real and lasting change is possible is the foundation of her counseling philosophy.
Mrs. Ramaker has specific training in family systems theory and structural family therapy. She is skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation. She enjoys treating clients in a group setting and has facilitated multiple therapy groups. She is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana.
